Q: How do I find a hotel to stay?
A: We have created orientalcompass.com so that you can choose the search option that works best for you:
Firstly, if you know where you want to go, you can search by country and by location.

Secondly, if you have your favorite hotel, simply type the name of the hotel you are looking for in the quick search box and our internal search engine will provide results that match your criteria.
Q: How do I view information on the property?
A: To learn more about the hotel to stay and see a host of colored photographs of important features, simply click on its name in a list of search results. You will find more detailed information about the property such as rooms, dining, recreational facilities, travel time and location map. Each hotel’s information page also includes our special room rates which are quoted in US Dollars per room per night. Click on the "book now" button to make your reservation.
Q: Can I make a reservation directly through the hotel?
A: The room rates listed on orientalcompass.com are available through our website only. If you would like to make a reservation directly with the hotel, you will have to contact them directly, and you will usually be charged an average of 10-40% more.

At orientalcompass.com, we have negotiated special rates or offers for users of our website which are not available to the general public, so you will receive better deals than booking with the hotel directly.
Q: Do I need a credit card to make a hotel reservation?
A:You will NOT be required to give your card details to make a hotel reservation until after you have received our confirmation on the hotel cost and private transfer (s) (if any) and you have chosen to go ahead with the reservation.

At that stage, we will then require your credit card details to process with your reservation. However, your credit card will only be charged once the reservation is confirmed by us (i.e. we will NOT charge your card if we CANNOT secure the reservation for you).
Q: Are your hotel rates per room or per person?
A: All the room rates listed on orientalcompass.com are per room per night, NOT per person per night.
Q: Are the hotel rates quoted inclusive of taxes and service charges?
A: All the room rates listed on orientalcompass.com are INCLUSIVE of hotels’ 10% service charge and all present applicable taxes.
Q: How soon can I expect a reply to my enquiry?
A: orientalcompass.com’s close relationship with most of hotels and partners allow us to “hold space� on many of the hotels featured in this website – and, as a result, in most cases, we can offer prompt confirmation generally within 24-48 hours.
Q: Can I contact you if there is any problem with my booking?
A: Yes, you can ALWAYS contact us by e-mail, fax or telephone us at any time if there is any technical or procedural problem with your booking. Our contact details are given below when you make any enquiry.

Q: Will I receive written confirmation of my reservation?
A: Yes. Once your reservation is confirmed and the payment is paid, you will be provided with:

* on-line hotel voucher
* on-line receipt
* on-line transfer voucher (if any)

via e-mail with summary of your booking details, your reservation number as well as contact details for any assistance you may need. You will have to print out these pages and take them with you on your trip. The hotel voucher is required to be presented upon check-in at the hotel you have booked. The transfer voucher is required to be presented to our representative who will meet you at the airport and/or hotel upon arrival and/or departure.
Q: What is your cancellation and refund policy?
A: After you make the reservations through our orientalcompass.com, you will receive a confirmation from us which will have a due date by which time you must confirm acceptance of your reservation by submitting your credit card details. If we do not receive the credit card details by the due date, your reservation will be automatically cancelled.

If you decide to cancel your reservation after payment has been settled and the hotel voucher has been issued, the following cancellation policy will be applied:

Cancellations received at any stage between the confirmation date and 30 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a cancellation charge of 10% of the total cost.

Cancellations received at any stage between 29 and 15 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a cancellation charge of 25% of the total cost.

Cancellations received at any stage between 14 and 4 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a cancellation charge of 50% of the total cost.

Cancellations received at any stage within 3 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a forfeiture of the total cost.

Failure to arrive at the hotel you have booked will be treated as last-minute cancellation and there will be no refund.

Essentially, the more notice you give, the less cancellation fee you will be charged. We strongly advise that you take out personal travel insurance at the time you make the booking, as depending on the reason for your cancellation, you may be covered by your insurance policy.

We will not accept or process any cancellation request which are sent to other agencies, hotels or third parties. All requests for any cancellation must be sent directly to us by e-mail or fax to:

The refund will be transferred or remitted into your bank account if the payment is paid by cash. For any payment made by credit card, there will be a 5% processing fee charged by the credit card company. This does not include the loss of the currency conversion that might take place on the day that the refund is transferred to your account. Please note that process of the refund by the credit card company can take up to 2 months in some cases.
Q: How does the booking process work?
A: Once you have found the ideal place to stay:

Firstly, you will have to click on the “book now� button in order to register to become a member of orientalcompass.com (see “What are the benefits of compass member?� section).

Secondly, you will have to fill up the simple reservation form stating your dates of arrival and departure, number of adults/children and number of rooms required together with any specific requirements such as bed type and smoking/non-smoking preferences plus if any private transfer (s) are required together with flight details and arrival/departure times, your emergency contact as well as your preferred alternative hotel (s) etc.

Thirdly, you will have to click on "submit your reservation" box so your request is instantly sent to us. You will then receive a reservation preview detailing your reservation request. If all information is correct and you would like to proceed, you will have to click on the “proceed to reservation� button at the end of the page.

Fourthly, then you will receive (usually within 24 hours) your booking information detailing nightly rates as well as meal plan together with the confirmation of grand total cost of hotel and private transfer (if any). At this stage, we will then require your credit card details to process with your reservation. However, your credit card will only be charged once the reservation is confirmed by us (i.e. we will NOT charge your card if we CANNOT secure the reservation for you).

Upon the receipt of your payment, we will proceed with the your hotel reservation request. Once, your hotel reservation is confirmed (if the hotel you specifically require are overbooked during those dates, we will be booking you in the preferred alternative hotel that you have chosen) and the payment is paid, you will be provided with:

* On-line receipt
* On-line hotel voucher
* On-line transfer voucher (if any)

via e-mail. You will have to print out these pages for your own record. The only things you will have to take them with you on your trip are the hotel voucher (as it is required to be presented upon check-in at the hotel) and the transfer voucher (as it is required to be presented to our representative who will meet you at the airport and/or the hotel upon your arrival and/or departure).
Q: What is the hotel policy for children?
A: Most hotels have the policy of allowing children to stay in the room with parents either with or without an extra bed. The normal hotel policy is not to charge for children under 11 years old sharing with parent (s). Some hotels limit occupants of a room to two adults and one child only. Only a few hotels will have an existing bedding for two adults and two children in a room so an extra bed is usually required. There are, unfortunately, some hotels that charge for extra bed.

Q: Is my credit card number safe?
A: Your credit card number is DEFINITELY safe. All credit card details are sent in encrypted form using 128 bits SSL encryption technology. SSL encodes your credit card number, so that it can only be available only to you and the trusted financial institution.
