Australian Koalas welcomed at Chiang Mai Zoo!
November 24th, 2006
Four koalas from Australia arrived in Chiang Mai safe and sound to a raturous welcome from local residents this week.
The koalas are given to Thailand by Australia as a token of the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Visitors will be allowed a closer glimpse of the marsupials in the next 2 weeks as they will be kept in a special enclosure to acclimatise themselves to their new environment first.
The males are called; Brian and Fula while the females are Coco and Simpson.
Welcome to Thailand!
