Thailand is now dotted with yellow t-shirts nationwide!

June 10th, 2006

yellowt-shirt.jpgFrom now until June 15, the entire Kingdom will be coloured with yellow T-shirts in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.

Over 30 millions of yellow t-shirts have been sold to the Thais who are donning the bright new look as yellow is the colour associated with Monday, the day when King Bhumibol Adulyadej was born.

Government workers in Bangkok were urged to wear yellow to work from June 1-15, but the fad has caught on across the country. Private companies nationwide are also promoting the campaign.

Indeed, this is an auspicious moment for people to show their love and respect for the King. Yellow is therefore a colour of love that all Thai people have for His Majesty the King.
