Three Massive Fireworks Shows in Bangkok - June 09-11 2006

thailandfireworks.jpgIf you will be in Bankgok during these days - do not miss the opportunity to view the 3 massive fireworks shows in honour of His Majesty the King’s 60th anniversary on the throne.

June 09 2006 - at Benjakiti Park (next to Emporium Department Store - Sukhumvit 24) during 6.00 p.m.-9.00 p.m.
The Community Support Foundation Thailand, Chinese Embassy and private sector are pulling out all the stops for the pyrotechnics show in Benjakiti Park from 6.00 p.m.- 9.00 p.m., and an orchestra will provide the musical accompaniment. China is supplying the skyrockets, which will explode in 5 series up to 200 meters overhead as images of the King are projected onto water screens. This fireworks show is said to be the grandest fireworks display ever seen in the Kingdom. The technology ensures smokeless, noiseless burst in extremely vivid colours.

June 10 2006 - at Middle of Chao Phraya River between Phra Puthayodpha Bridge and Phra Pinklao Bridge during 8.30 p.m.-9.30 p.m.
The day after His Majesty’s 60th anniversary to the throne, a second firework display will take place from 8.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. This time the rocketry comes from Japan, and spectators will see one continuous, 15-minute display in a a show being arranged by the Royal Army’s chemicals department. This one is said to be the newest technology from Japan and it has a brighter and sharper colours than the ordinary kind. More than 20,000 fireworks will be shown.

June 11 2006 - at Nang Leung Horse Racing Courses during 8.30 p.m.-9.30 p.m.
The third airbourne spectacular is planned with the highlight being the number 60 spelled out in both Thai and Arabic numerals. The Muang Thong Seiko Company is putting on this show, featuring some 1,010 rockets.

All three fireworks shows are free and will be televised as well.
